Former Team India cricketer David Johnson tragically passed away after falling from his fourth-floor apartment balcony in Bengaluru. The 52-year-old was immediately taken to a nearby hospital but could not be saved.

Former Team India Player David Johnson Passes Away After Tragic Incident

Johnson had been battling health issues over the past year, frequently visiting the hospital. He had just been discharged three days prior after spending the previous week hospitalized. He is survived by his wife.

Anil Kumble, former India captain, and Johnson’s teammate, expressed his condolences on X, saying, “Saddened to hear the passing of my cricketing colleague David Johnson. Heartfelt condolences to his family. Gone too soon ‘Benny’!”

Friends and acquaintances noted that Johnson had been facing financial difficulties for some time, leading his family to seek assistance from friends.

Johnson made his Test debut for India in the inaugural Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Feroz Shah Kotla in 1996, following a strong domestic performance for Karnataka. He also participated in the first Test of the South Africa tour in Durban, which was his last international appearance.
