Speaking to a news channel, Gavaskar highlighted the current political situation and Pakistan’s unlikely participation in the tournament.

Miandad On Sunil Gavaskar’s Comment

Reacting to Gavaskar’s comments, Miandad voiced disbelief. “I can’t believe Sunny bhai said this,” he told telecomasia.net, recalling their long-standing camaraderie on and off the field. “He’s a respectful, down-to-earth person who always stayed away from politics.”

Tensions between the two nations have flared after a deadly attack on tourists in Pahalgam Valley in Kashmir, which left 26 dead. India has blamed Pakistan for supporting the terrorists, suspended the long-standing Indus Water Treaty, and hinted at broader retaliatory actions.

What Basit Ali Said

Basit Ali made a harsh comment on Indian legend, calling the remarks “stupid” and urging for evidence before levelling accusations. “Let the investigation conclude. Cricket should remain above political hostilities,” he added.
