Kolkata: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has been suspended by the game’s global governing body FIFA. The AIFF wants to get out of this problem quickly. The only way is to quickly form a new executive committee. Barring any last-minute mishaps, Kalyan Chaubey is going to be the president of the AIFF.
FIFA had held several rounds of talks before expelling the All India Football Federation (AIFF). They had clear guidelines, FIFA does not want ex-footballers in the Indian Football (Indian Football) draft. There was even reluctance to give them the right to vote in federation elections.

Former Team India captain Baichung Bhutia has submitted his nomination for the post of AIFF President. He had submitted his nomination as a former footballer. The Supreme Court abolished the Committee of Administrators (CoA) and the process of holding elections started afresh.
Currently, former Team India star Kalyan Chaubey is the leading contender in the race to become the next president of the AIFF. The former goalkeeper used to be one of the stars of the Kolkata Maidan during his heydays. He had started his career at the top echelon of Indian football with Mohun Bagan before going on to play extensively for East Bengal.
The AIFF had held a meeting in Delhi with the representatives of the state football associations. Representatives of 25 out of 36 state organizations were present at the meeting in Delhi. Everyone has supported Kalyan Choubey as president.

This meeting is very significant before the start of the new election process. The submissions of nominations have started today. Nominations will be accepted till August 27. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on August 28. Nominations can be withdrawn from August 29-30. The election is scheduled to be held on September 2. If no one submits a nomination against Kalyan Chaubey then his presidency is just a matter of time.
Kalyan Chaubey, however, is not submitting his nomination from IFA i.e. the football association of West Bengal. He is going to file his nomination from Gujarat.
