After suffering an abashment blow by the Australian pacers, the Indian batting summed up at 150 in 49.4 overs, with Nitish Kumar Reddy being the highest contributor with the bat with 41 runs. It is a well-known fact that the pitches in Australia are bowlers’ favourites, especially the pacers. The Ad-hoc Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah took the charge in his hand and continued to unleash the fury from the red ball by taking 5 wickets.
India, after winning the toss opted to bat first. The Indian batters Struggled throughout the first innings as the young Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal went out of the play without scoring a run. Virat Kohli also couldn’t cast any spell from his ‘Kohli magic’ playbook. There was some contribution by Rishab Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy with bat but that solace also could not last long when both of them lost their wicket from the skipper Pat Cummins.

Apart from Bumrah, the Indian pace attack has been exceptionally good, with Mohammad Siraj and the debutante Harshit Rana taking two or two wickets each. It would be exciting to see what the Indian batters have for the kangaroos in the bag for the second innings.
