What Saudi Arabia’s Sports Minister Said

Prince Abdulaziz Bin Turki Al-Faisal told a selective group of reporters they have no objection to an increase of numbers in 2034 tournament. This was discussed during the Saudi Arabian Formula One Grand Prix in Jeddah.

“We’re ready, or we will be ready, inshallah. If that’s a decision that FIFA takes and thinks that’s a good decision for everyone, then we’re more than happy to deliver on it,” he said.

Even global soccer governing body officially announced Saudi Arabia as the host of 2034 FIFA World Cup in December. The kingdom has heavily invested in sport over last few years but critics accuse it of “sportswashing” its human rights record.
