India’s skipper Rohit Sharma has showered praise on the exciting young troika of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, and Sarfaraz Khan after his team trumped England 4-1 in the five-match rubber. The latter two were a key player for India in the series against England when their main batsmen like Virat Kohli and KL Rahul were unavailable and the talented trio courted controversy with their aggressive batting that helped India win the coveted five-match rubberson the way they wanted.

Rohit Sharma Opens Up About The ‘Trio’

“Honestly, you don’t need to speak too much to them. They’re very new to Test cricket, Jaiswal, Jurel, Sarfaraz, all of them. We saw glimpses of what they can do with the bat, and Jurel, especially, with his gloves behind the stumps,” Rohit said in the pre-series press conference against Bangladesh.

The Indian captain highlighted the strengths of the trio, affectionately referring to them as his “garden mein ghoomne wale ladke.” A shared trait among them is their remarkable ability to thrive under pressure.

“Jaiswal had a very good series last time. Jurel got runs under pressure. Sarfaraz Khan is fearless, not worrying too much about what happens outside. You need all sorts of players who are fearless, cautious and responsible as well. We have that mix of everything and it’s a good sign.”
