The IND vs AUS 1st Test will be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth and both teams will be looking forward on making a winning start to the series. Question: How Do You Feel As Yashasvi Jaiswal Has Made It To Indian Team For Australian Tour?

Jwala Singh: It was quite obvious as he was doing well from the past one and half years. To be frank it is nothing very special, he was already in the Indian team. I will be happy if he does well there and win the series for the Indian team.

Question: What Shall Be Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Approach Against The Australian Bowlers?

Jwala Singh: It’s all about understanding the conditions first, because cricket is the game of conditions and there are different pitches. Different bowling attack, different needs, every player needs to understand the present challenges, requirements and accordingly you can play your natural game. You cannot be pre determined before entering the field like I am going to do this or that. It is about going there, plan according to the situation, making runs and backing how to do it. My advice would be just understand the conditions and then you can pick what shot to play and what shot you cannot.

Question: How Do You Feel He Featured On Cricket Australia’s Twitter?

Jwala Singh: I always see myself in Yashasvi because my story is very-very similar to him. So, I supported him with my heart and soul, whatever I had gave it to him. I wanted someone to represent Jwala Singh at international level and he is doing it, I am very-very happy. It is very special that these kind of high-level people are talking and such websites are publishing. I am very-very happy and proud.

Question: How Will Yashasvi Jaiswal Tackle Nathan Lyon?

Jwala Singh: Do not need to do anything different. Just need to understand the bowling and then you need to make a plan and try to execute it. It’s not about thinking this bowler is good or bad, you just see the ball not the bowler. Sometimes, even good bowlers bowl the bad deliveries and sometimes even normal bowlers bowl the good deliveries. As a batter you always learn to react and I always say you need to attack and it is the best option in any conditions. If you have the ability you should attack which means see the conditions and then play accordingly. Nathan Lyon in home conditions, he knows the pitches really very well but as I said, a batter just needs to think where he is playing and he just needs to score runs. I think Yashasvi just needs to understand the conditions and bat according to his instinct.

Question: Will Yashasvi Jaiswal Struggle Against Bouncy Australian Tracks?

Jwala Singh: I really don’t think so, it is very difficult to play red-ball cricket. In white-ball cricket you can hit and dominate the bowler but in the Test match the real challenge is that the bowlers can bowl longer spells. So, you cannot just take a chance and just try to hit and dominate. Here you need to wait and watch to look for the bad deliveries. In terms of Yashasvi, he has done enough practice on bouncy tracks. I have made him practice on extra tough wickets since a very early age and during the IPL practice we used to practice with the plastic ball. I don’t think the bounce will be the problem, the problem will be the conditions.

Question: According To You What Will Be The Scoreline Of The BGT Series?

Jwala Singh: As an Indian, I will not give you any prediction. However, Australia playing in Australia, will always have the first edge. I will India will, I am not sure, its hard to say, it depends on the first Test. I feel India should win at least two Test matches.
