Premier League clubs Everton and Liverpool were set to play against each other in the next match of the English Premier League at the Goodinson Park in Liverpool, United Kingdom. However, the Liverpool Derby has been postponed due to the storm Darragh. The decisions was made for ensuring the safety of the players and people. Officials from both the clubs as well as police officials from the Merseyside police and Liverpool city council attended the meeting. Everton issued a statement and informed about the postponement of the Everton vs Liverpool Premier League match.

The statement read, “Due to the risk to safety in the local area due to strong wind gusts, and an amber severe wind warning that remains in place until 6am on Sunday, today’s fixture should be postponed on safety ground.” The Merseyside police administration also advised the local people to avoid unnecessary travel. Apart from Everton, Liverpool released a statement as well, which read, “We appreciate this will be deeply disappointing for supporters, but the safety of fans, staff and players is of paramount importance. Information relating to a rearranged date for the fixture, including ticketing, will be announced in due course.”
