To date, scoring in Test cricket is a real test of patience, skill, and mental strength. Batsmen confront the globe’s best bowlers on varying pitch conditions over five days of relentless toil.
In contrast to limited-overs formats, there’s no hurry—but no tolerance for mistakes. Staying alive through sessions, coping with swing, spin, and bounce, makes runs hard-earned and centuries legendary.
Joe Root climbed to 2nd place on the all-time list of Test run-scorers after hitting a century in the fourth test match against India at Old Trafford. He was one of the cricketers who helped the England cricket team reach 433/4.
Joe made history by surpassing several legends and now stands just behind legendary cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, with 13,380 runs in Men’s Test cricket. Sachin is still standing ahead of Joe Root by securing his first place in test matches with an incredible 15,921 runs.
Joe surpassed Ricky Ponting (13,378), Jacques Kallis (13,289), and Rahul Dravid (13,288).

In one of the interviews in Sky Sports, Ricky said, “Just one more to go. The way his career has gone over the last five years, there’s absolutely no reason why not.”
There are reports saying that Joe Root has scored 1,128 Test runs at Old Trafford. He’s already amassed 2,166 runs at Lord’s. Being the first English cricketer, Joe achieved the 1,000-run milestone at this ground.
