On Monday, in the first session of the fourth day, Sri Lanka finished off England. England’s bowlers looked helpless in front of Sri Lanka. Opener Pathum Nissanka played the biggest role in this victory. He scored a brilliant century by batting aggressively in England’s home. Nissanka created history with this century.

First Sri Lankan Player To Claim The Record!

Pathum Nissanka has become the first Sri Lankan player to score a century in the fourth innings of a Test in England. In his brilliant innings, Nissanka scored an unbeaten 127 runs in 124 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 102.42. Nissanka had earlier scored a brilliant half-century in the first innings. He scored a total of 64 runs in 51 balls with 9 fours. Nissanka was awarded the Player of the Match for this historic innings.

Sri Lanka got a target of 219 runs to win this match. It achieved this target in the 41st over due to Pathum Nissanka’s century and Angelo Mathews’ unbeaten 32 runs. Kusal Mendis scored 39 runs in 37 balls with 7 fours and Dimuth Karunaratne scored 8 runs in 21 balls with 1 four.

Second Test century For Nissanka

The special thing is that this is only the second Test century of Pathum Nissanka’s career. He has set a record with the second century of his career. This 26-year-old talented batsman has played only 11 Tests in his career. This is also the highest score of his Test career.
