Jos Buttler Leads From The Front
Put to bat first, ENG opener Phil Salt was dismissed within the powerplay on just 13 runs courtesy of an Imad Wasim delivery. His opening partner and skipper Jos Buttler however, covered up on Salt’s end and scored a brilliant 84 on the night.

It was Buttler’s knock accompanied by fiery cameos by IPL stars Will Jacks (37) and Jonny Bairstow (21) which powered the Three Lions to a competitive total of 183/7 on the night.
Shaheen Afridi led the bowling line-up with 3 wickets on the day as Imad Wasim and Haris Rauf picked up 2 wickets to his name as well.
ENG Bowlers Restrict PAK To 160
In reply, it wasn’t a decent start for the Men in Green as openers Mohd Rizwan and Saim Ayub were sent back to the pavilion pretty early on in the chase at a collective total of just 2 runs as Rizwan was sent on a duck while Ayub departed on 2. Skipper Babar Azam also failed to guide the side after being dismissed by Moeen Ali on 32 runs.
Fakhar Zaman’s 21-ball 45 was the highest score for a Pakistan batter on the night as wickets at quick intervals saw England get hold of the game and restrict the visitors to 160 runs.
The win gave England a 1-0 lead in the 4-match series in front of their own fans and would look forward to win the series as well.
