ENG vs IND: Former RCB Player Says ‘India Didn’t Know What To Do’ Under Shubman Gill’s Captaincy—Know Details

Ben Duckett unleashed his tactics to make the bowlers nervous and make sure momentum was on their side. Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik slammed the pacer's behaviour in the commentary box, and he doubled down during his comments after play.

Veteran RCB player Dinesh Karthik harshly criticised Shubham Gill’s captaincy, stating that Gill struggled to maintain the situation when England and the openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett were dominating on day 2 of the 5th test at the Kia Oval. The blue men had struggled with the ball in the initial overs. India was bowled out for 224. In the first innings, India gave away 92 runs in just 12 overs.

Dinesh Karthik slammed the pacer’s conduct during commentary, and he doubled down on his criticism after the day’s play.

The former player stated that “I was thinking rather they (Duckett and Akash Deep) know each other from before or they have played so much against each other, but I didn’t think they have that kind of a relationship.”

England team assistant coach Marcus Trescothick also commented on Akash Deep’s send-off in the post-day-2 press conference. It remains to be known if the match authorities decide to investigate the issue after the conclusion of the game.

Reports revealed Dinesh Karthik’s comment on Day 3 of ENG vs IND 2025 5th Test: “If they run through India, I think India will be done tomorrow.”

According to the reports, Karthik said, “I feel everything relies on how they play that first session for many reasons. One, Chris Woakes not being around. So there are three fast bowlers, and if the batters handle them well, they stay in the game. If they run through India, I think India will be done tomorrow.”
