Emerging Asia Cup 2024 has started in Oman, with India A doing marvelously. Not losing even one single match from the very beginning of the tournament, India A has defeated opponents like Pakistan in their very first match and is moving to the semi-final stage with flying colors. Other teams like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Afghanistan have also reached this stage.
India will face Afghanistan in the semi-final on October 25. As per the historical reports, India has stronger statistics against Afghanistan, thus making it one of the favorites to win. In the other half of the semis bracket, Pakistan will face Sri Lanka. If Pakistan can win that and India manages to get ahead into the final, there will be fans who would be intrigued by a repeat encounter between the two arch-rivals.

Last Year’s Final: A Painful Memory
In the Emerging Asia Cup 2023, India suffered a crushing blow at the hands of Pakistan. Under the captaincy of Yash Dhull, India could not counter the strong total of 352 runs by the Pakistani side. India could make a score of only 224 and suffered a defeat by 128 runs. This time it’s the turn of Tilak Verma, and he is confident of reprisal for the previous defeats.

India’s Form In The Tournament
Till now, India has played well. Having won the opener against Pakistan, they have further followed up with a comprehensive 7-wicket victory over the UAE and a win over the host nation, Oman, by 6 wickets. To win the title this time around, India would have to maintain this stellar play into the semi-finals and reach the final.
