‘Educate Your Son’: Suryakumar Yadav’s Powerful Message Amid Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder Protests

Team India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav posted a story on Instagram which said ‘Educate your son’. The story has now gone viral. The entire nation is protesting against the rape and murder of postgraduate trainee doctor in Kolkata. Even though not many cricketers have spoken about the ongoing issue, Mohammed Siraj, Harbhajan Singh and Suryakumar Yadav are the top three names that emerged, who’ve condemned the act.

There have been protests all over the country and people are raging with anger and fighting for justice of the girl against whom this brutal crime was conducted.

Suryakumar in the wake of ongoing situation posted:

“Educate your son and your brother and your father and your husband and your friends” mentioned in his Instagram story.

 

 

People are protesting all over the country and studentsfrom different medical colleges took out procession in Kolkata on Sunday, August 18. They demanded justice for the doctor who was killed. Slogans, posters, and placards seeking punishment were used. People have been on the streets no matter the weather, even in heavy rains with ankle-deep water; students walked from college street to Shyambazar. The students demanded the CBI to conduct a proper investigation into the matter.

Harbhajan Singh also wrote to West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose and Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee. He requested them to act fast and prioritize the case.

The safety and dignity of women of women are non-negotiable. Harbhajan said. He further mentioned that the criminals should get the punishment fast.

He shared a copy of the letter which was addressed to the ‘Government of West Bengal’, Central Bureau of Investigation and Citizens of India on Twitter.
