Star Indian batter Rishabh Pant is all prepped up to make his red-ball return, he’ll be seen in Duleep Trophy which will commence from September 5. The batter shared video of his intense training session on Instagram which has now gone viral.
Rishabh Pant met a horiffic car accident in December 2022 but Pant made a stellar comeback fighting all the odds. He was seen in action in the T20 World Cup 2024. Pant also featured in the opening match of Delhi Premier League and played for Purani Dilli 6. He has been a marquee wicketkeeper batter for Team India and all eyes will be on him as he marks his return in red-ball cricket.
Rishabh Pant’s Comeback After Surgery
Rishabh Pant last played a red-ball match for India in December 2022 against Bangladesh. After a serious accident, he required surgery to help recover his three torn ligaments in his knee, which kept him out of action for more than a year. Pant made his comeback to the field in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL), where he captained the Delhi Capitals (DC).

T20 World Cup 2024 & Sri Lanka Series
After a successful IPL season, Rishabh Pant represented India in the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. The left-handed batter scored 171 runs at a strike rate of 127.61, helping India secure the title. Following the World Cup, Pant featured in two T20Is and an ODI during India’s tour of Sri Lanka. In the first T20I, he made an impact with a brisk 49 off just 33 deliveries.

Pant Prepares For India’s Grueling Test Season
Rishabh Pant played for Purani Dilli 6 in the Delhi Premier League’s opening match where he scored 35 off 32 balls. The horrific car accident in December 2022 pushed him away from several major events, including the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup and the World Test Championship final. Now, Pant is set to return as India’s wicketkeeper for the upcoming Test season, with a five-match series in Australia on the horizon, that’s the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Stellar Test Cricket Record
Rishabh Pant has proven to be a match-winner for India in Test cricket. Known for his decisive play, the left-handed batter has been instrumental in securing key victories, including a remarkable win at the Gabba in 2021. To date, Pant has amassed 2,271 runs in 33 Tests, boasting an impressive average of 43.67. His achievements include five centuries and 11 fifties.
