The most awaited Duleep Trophy is all set to commence from September 5. There are four strong teams participating in the tournament. Duleep Trophy will also provide a great exposure and practice to the players preparing for upcoming Test series.

The opening match between India A and India B will be held at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The four teams will be fighting against each other with 6 matches taking place. The matches will take place on 3 different dates, which are 5, 12 and 19 September respectively.

Key Players To Watch Out For

A lot of senior players will be featuring in Duleep Trophy This Year. The marquee players will be playing only till September 12 as they’ve to go further for national duty as the two match Test series against Bangladesh will start from September 19. All eyes will be on India A captain Shubman Gill who is a contender for gaining his spot in the Indian Test Team. Other players who are expected to leave their mark are Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel.

Suryakumar Yadav Injured & Ravindra Jadeja Withdraws

India’s T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, was set to play for India C in the opening match against India D in Anantapur, but will now miss the game due to a hand injury sustained during the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament. He is currently at National Cricket Academy (NCA) and recovering from the injury sustained. Ravindra Jadeja’s unexpected release from the India B squad without an official reason is another setback to his team as the all-rounder would have played a crucial role. Apart from these two marquee players, fast bowler Umran Malik has also been ruled out of the tournament following an injury.
