Entering the fray on the last ball of the 11th over with India D struggling at 34/5, Patel’s innings was crucial. In the second session post-lunch, Patel’s aggressive approach took center stage. He was joined by Arshdeep Singh following the dismissal of Harshit Rana, with the score at a precarious 76/8. Patel, accustomed to high-pressure situations, channeled his inner rescue-man, reminiscent of his crucial 47-run knock in the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa.
Patel’s standout moment came in the 39th over, where he dominated Manav Suthar from India C. The over began with a six and was followed by two fours, with Patel reaching his fifty in style with another six, bringing up his half-century in just 77 balls. Supported by Arshdeep, who also upped his game with a six, Patel’s aggressive play led to an 84-run partnership.
