The cricketing fraternity in Pakistan is abuzz with wedding bells, as both left-handed batsman Imam-ul-Haq and Pakistani bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf are gearing up for their upcoming wedding. Faheem Ashraf, the 29-year-old cricketer, recently celebrated his Mehendi ceremony in his hometown, Phool Nagar, situated in Punjab’s Kasur district. The event was graced by Faheem’s close friends and family members.
Wedding Day and Celebrations
Interestingly, Faheem Ashraf’s marriage is set to take place on the same day as Imam Ul Haq’s wedding, scheduled for Saturday, 25th November. The Walima celebrations for both cricketers will follow on November 26, held at distinct venues. Faheem’s wedding ceremony is slated for Narowal, with the Walima reception planned in Phool Nagar.
Cricket Career Highlights
Faheem Ashraf has an impressive cricketing career, having played 16 Tests, 34 ODIs, and 48 T20 matches for Pakistan. His debut in T20 and ODI formats occurred in 2017, while he stepped into the Test format in 2018. Both Faheem and Imam Ul Haq are anticipated to participate in the forthcoming Test series against Australia, commencing on 14th December. Faheem is expected to join the team in Lahore by November 30.
Recent Performance and Upcoming Matches
While his last ODI appearance against India in Colombo during the Asia Cup proved to be expensive, with Faheem conceding 74 runs in 10 overs and scoring only 4 runs in batting, he has been granted permission to skip the entire training camp for the impending three-match series starting from November 28 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, as reported by Geo Super.
Notable Wedding Trend Among Pakistani Cricketers
It’s worth noting that several other prominent Pakistani cricketers, including T20 captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, fast bowler Haris Rauf, spinner Shadab Khan, and Test captain Shan Masood, tied the knot earlier this year, continuing the trend of cricket stars exchanging vows in 2023.
