Sergio Aguero disclosed his commitment to remain at Man City even if he had to accept playing from the substitute bench in an interview. Aguero made the transfer to Barcelona in 2021 after City rejected his contract extension during the summer. Aguero suffered from injuries which reduced his Premier League playing time to 12 matches before City chose to bring in new signing options. The period of Aguero’s legendary decade at Etihad Stadium came to an end when City opted to release him from their squad.
Aguero’s Willingness To Stay At Man City Despite Squad Changes
Sergio Aguero disclosed how he offered to stay at Man City even in a lesser role behind the starting eleven. Aguero departed for Barcelona following the summer of 2021 after City chose not to renew his contract. The limited number of Premier League matches he could play because of injuries forced Manchester City to start looking for new options in their attacking lineup during Aguero’s last year at the club.
