In a one-sided contest at the Rising Stars Asia Cup 2025, India A, led by Jitesh Sharma, suffered an 8-wicket defeat to Pakistan Shaheens. While the on-field action between the bat and ball was always expected to be intense given the historic India-Pakistan rivalry, off-field gestures also grabbed attention.
The toss continued the unsportsmanlike precedent set earlier in the senior Asia Cup, as the captains of the two sides didn’t shake hands. After the match, social media buzzed with claims that Indian players had reached out to Pakistani counterparts, but the reality was far different. A video surfaced showing only Pakistani players and staff exchanging handshakes, with no interaction from the Indian side.
NO WAY Indian players came to shake hands but Pakistani players just walked away 😭 India is getting a taste of its own medicine😭😭😭

Maaz Sadaqat’s Brilliance
On the cricketing front, Pakistan’s Maaz Sadaqat stole the show with a brilliant all-round performance. He smashed an unbeaten 79 off just 47 balls, including seven fours and four sixes, and also chipped in with the ball, picking up 2/12. His effort set the tone for a dominant performance from the Shaheens.
Pakistan never looked in trouble while chasing 137. Mohammad Naeem (14) and Yasir Khan (11) were the only wickets to fall, taken by Yash Thakur and Suyash Sharma, respectively. Maaz, supported by Shahid Aziz’s impressive 3/24 from three overs, guided the Shaheens to victory in just 13.2 overs.
The win highlighted Pakistan’s control from the start, and their all-round performance emphasized their growing depth in the Rising Stars circuit. India A will now look to regroup and learn from the loss as the tournament progresses.
