A recent social media conversation has created a controversy with influencer Dhanashree Verma and her former husband, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. Popular streamer and comedian Samay Rana posted a screenshot from a video on his social media with the caption “Love you, my sugar daddy,” tagging Yuzvendra and putting laughing and kissing emojis there.
The post swiftly gained traction since it mentioned a “Be your own sugar daddy” t-shirt Yuzvendra had worn to their divorce hearing. It triggered rampant speculation on all social media. Dhanashree later appeared to reply in an indirect manner in a post of her pet dog, which was captioned in the dog’s voice. The timing caused many to believe it was a veiled answer to the viral “sugar daddy” remark with her ex-husband.
Since their divorce, Yuzvendra and Dhanashree have been in the news quite often. The two got married in December 2020 but broke up in less than three years, with their divorce proceedings reportedly marred by tension. One aspect that came out in the wake of the current controversy was Yuzvendra’s selection of the “sugar daddy” t-shirt during their last divorce hearings, further fueling current internet controversies. Several wondered if Samay’s caption was sarcastic in tone directed at the cricketer.
