Birmingham: India weightlifter Lovepreet Singh wins bronze medal in 109kg category after lifting a total of 355kg in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.
Junior Periclex Ngadja Nyabeyeu form Cameroon won gold medal with a total lift of 361 KG. While the runner up of the event was Jack Hitila Opeloge lifting 358 kgs.
Lovepreet won the bronze medal lifting 163 in snatch and 192 in clean and jerk.

Lovepreet Singh wins bronze medal
India lifter from Punjab, Lovepreet, was an impressive young lifter when he won a bronze in the Asian junior championships and a Commonwealth junior champion in 2017.
He improved his performance win the silver medal in 109kg at the 2021 Commonwealth championships. Lovepreet is employed by the Indian Navy.

Earlier, Indian weightlifters have won 8 medals in the game with 3 golds. Mirabai Chanu, Jeremy Lalrinnunga and Achinta Sheuli have bagged gold in their respective categories.
