Birmingham: India mixed badminton team has sailed into the semi-finals of the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022. The team in Blue will be fighting against Singapore.
Day 3 proved to be another successful day for the Indian shuttlers as they beat South Africa in the Quarter-Final stage of the Mixed Team competition.
India mixed team to fight in semis
Sumeet and Ashwini gave a 1-0 lead to India by beating Jared & Deidre, 21-9, 21-11. Lakshya Sen gave India the second point by getting the better of Caden Kakora 21-5, 21-6. In the end, Aakarshi Kashyap rounded off with a victory over Johanita Scholtz and made the score 3-0.
Today, the Indians will now face Singapore in the semi-finals at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham. The defending champions will field a strong team, including PV Sindhu to get a spot in the finals.

On the other hand, Singapore will come up with their best game, and they will look upon the services of the world champion Loh Kean Yew to help them get a victory.
Lakshya Sen vs Loh Kean Yew match is going to be the highlight of the tie. In the mixed doubles, the pairing of Ashwini Ponnappa and B Sumeeth Reedy will be seen in action, PV Sindhu is also expected to play in the semifinals. While England and Malaysia will fight it out in the other semifinals.
