Indian boxer Sagar Ahlawat thrashed Ifni Onykewere of Nigeria 5-0 to enter the men's super heavyweight final.

Commonwealth Games: The Indian contingent enjoyed yet another successful outing at the 9th day of the Commonwealth Games on Saturday.

In the boxing competition, Sagar Ahlawat entered the final of the men’s super heavyweight (+92kg) category while Rohit Tokas ended up with a bronze after losing his semifinal bout in the men’s 67 kg category. Among the women, India’s Nitu Ghanghas reached the final of the women’s 48 kg category.

In Para Table Tennis, Sonalben Manubhai Patel of India beat Sue Bailey of England 11-5, 11-2, 11-3 to win bronze medal in the women’s singles.

Sagar enters final

Sagar Ahlawat was up against Ifni Onykewere of Nigeria. The Indian boxer dominated the bout to defeat the boxer from Nigeria 5-0 to enter the final.

Rohit Tokas gets bronze

In the semi-final match of Men’s 67 kg category, Rohit Tokas was defeated by Stephen Zimba of Zambia 2-3. The match was a tough one but the judges have given the victory to Stephen Zimba in this match by split decision. With this, Rohit has won the bronze medal.
