Birmingham: India women has scripted history in Commonwealth Games 2022 as they reach the finals of Lawn Bowl on Monday. India defeated New Zealand in the semi-final of the game by 16-13.
The Indian quartet of Lovely Choubey (lead), Pinki (second), Nayanmoni Saikia (third) and Rupa Rani Tirkey (skip) could not stop crying out of happiness of confirming a medal in a game in their debut participation.

The Women in Blue qualified for the semifinals of the lawn bowls competition after defeating Norfolk Island. They will face South Africa in the final on Monday.

The game kept shifting from one side to another as both team played with their full potential as oscillated the game towards their side. However, in the last round, Rupa Rani Tirkey dislodged New Zealand’s closest bowl with brilliant shots.
