CSK’s Ace Player Accuses Mumbai Indians For Match Fixing? What Really Happened In The Eliminator Against Gujarat Titans? Find Out

Mumbai defeated Gujarat by 20 runs in a nail-biting contest. Rohit Sharma’s 81 runs helped Mumbai to reach a mammoth total of 228 runs

Ravichandran Ashwin has caused a stir after sarcastically hinting that the Mumbai Indians (MI) might be involved in match-fixing after their IPL 2025 Eliminator with the Gujarat Titans (GT). Ashwin, former captain of Punjab Kings (PBKS), remembered a game against the Mumbai Indians that made him suspect something. On his YouTube channel, Ash Ki Baat, he said,

I have always seen this. Once in 2018, there was a game between Punjab and Mumbai. I was the captain of Punjab. In that game, Punjab was batting first and Mumbai was batting 13 overs and they were 80-odd for 5. It was not in the game. The current got cut. The current of the floodlights went off,

There was a 20-minute break in the game. It started again. Kieron Pollard made an amazing parry. Mumbai made 200, I guess,” he added.

Ashwin’s Struggle This Season

Chennai Super Kings bought Ashwin for ₹9.75 crores and showed him in the IPL 2025. He struggled in his season, getting only seven wickets in nine matches and his average being higher than 40, with 9.12 runs scored per over. The Chennai Super Kings are placed at the bottom of the league table for the first time in IPL.

Following MI vs GT, Ravichandran Ashwin remembered a 2018 encounter between Punjab and Mumbai. He stated that because of the 20-minute delay caused by the floodlights going out, Mumbai was battling when it was only 13 overs into the game. After play was resumed, Mumbai played much better and turned things around where Kieran Pollard played much better.

I thought, how does this happen? You get a break like this for Mumbai Indians.
Of course, you earn your luck. But they also get luck. I don’t know. There is something. We will have to find that luck. How is it coming to them? I don’t know. We will have to find that luck. How is it coming to them?
” he said.

MI Qualifies For Qualifier 2

Mumbai Indians have qualified for the second qualifiers and will face the Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Mumbai defeated Gujarat by 20 runs in a nail-biting contest. Rohit Sharma’s 81 runs helped Mumbai to reach a mammoth total of 228 runs, which the Gujarat batters fell short of. Shubman Gill was sent back to the hut early and could create an impact with the bat. Meanwhile, Sai Sudarshan batted with an intent to take his team to victory, but eventually, he had to go back to the pavilion.
