“I have no idea. My experience of working with him remains pleasing. He’s still going strong. Today I avoid asking him anything regarding his playing status.”

The Indian professional cricketer Dhoni played in the IPL despite ending his international career during 2020. The 2025 IPL has Dhoni listed under the uncapped category with CSK retaining his services at an amount of INR 4 crore. The teams Dhoni captained alongside CSK have produced weak performances throughout IPL 2025.

CSK’s Dominance Fading

From the beginning of the season CSK won against Mumbai Indians before their current downward spiral in performance. The batsmanship of Dhoni in the late innings for CSK during IPL 2022 has not prevented their team from suffering three consecutive losses including two games they had control of before the final few overs. Dhoni struggles with consistent bat swing that used to produce his legendary abilities leading numerous to question his long-term role in the league.
