Cristiano Ronaldo issued an apology after Al Nassr’s match against Al Wehda which was delayed due to traffic. The team bus arrived nine minutes past the scheduled kick-off time which further led to one hour delay. Despite the setback, Ronaldo helped secure a 2-0 victory for his side, scoring a goal and setting up a penalty, which teammate Sadio Mané took.
Ronaldo’s performance against Al Wehda helped Al Nassr secure a win after previous setback against Al Ettifaq, this also keeps Al Nassr in the third place in the Saudi Pro League with 47 points. They remain eight points behind league leaders Al Ittihad, who have a game in hand, and four points behind second-place Al Hilal. Currently, Ronaldo is the top scorer in the SPL with 17 goals, one ahead of Al Ittihad’s Karim Benzema.

“It was a tough game. The first half was difficult because we did a journey three hours in the bus because of traffic and the roads were closed,” Ronaldo told SSC sports.
“I want to apologise on behalf of Al Nassr for starting the game late. This is should not happen again. Sorry,” the 40-year-old Portugal international added.
“We started not very good, but in second half we were a little bet better. We fixed our issues and we scored two goals so we are happy.”
