Kambli was recently seen at the Ramakant Achrekar memorial in Mumbai and he was seen to be to unwell. The image of Kambli holding Sachin Tendulkar’s hand sparked concerns about his health following which he was even admitted to hospital due to his multiple health issues.

Adding a new layer to Kambli’s downfall story, former Indian pacer and Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh revealed that he had warned Vinod Kambli and asked him to stop. He asked Kambli to remain humble in his prime but the advice went in vain and the result eventually turned into a big downfall with Kambli still bearing the consequences.

“I told Vinod Kambli once. Stop these parties, smoking cigarettes, going with girls. I said stop it. This way you will be finished. You will be crying. I spoke to him personally, at the top of his voice. But then he said, ‘This is glamour. I am the king.’ That’s why I say. You are not bigger than the game,” Yograj said while speaking to InsideSport.
