The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was absolutely spectacular and it definitely had few iconic moments but the highlight of the tournament was Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) winning its maiden IPL trophy and Virat Kohli’s IPL dream come true. The IPL Final was held on June 3 at the Narendra Modi Stadium where RCB defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs.

RCB beat PBKS in the most thrilling final at Narendra Modi Stadium, ending their long drought of a trophy. Emotional scenes were seen afterwards, with captain Rajat Patidar lifting the trophy amidst fireworks and celebrations.

And in that iconic image of Kohli breaking down in joy after the final whistle, millions fell in love with the moment-relief after years of near misses. He termed it as one of his career-best moments.
Return of MS Dhoni as Captain for CSK
Mid-season, Dhoni came into the captaincy role when Ruturaj Gaikwad suffered an injury. That factor of his leading, along with the streak of lightning-fast stumpings he pulled off-some even to go viral at 43 years-was enough to bring back the nostalgia and fire in the strong performances of CSK.
