India’s Test captain Shubman Gill achieved his first series win as India defeated West Indies in 2nd Test. India was chasing a modest target of 121 runs, the hosts resumed Day 5 at the score of 63/1 and the team took just 17.2 overs to reach the finish line and won the match by seven wickets.
The Day 5 started with India chasing 58 runs, the openers Sai Sudharsan and KL Rahul resumed the inning in calm and composed manner. Rahul timed all the shots carefully and guided India through the finish line and he even registered a half-century.
With this win, India is now at the third spot in World Test Championship Points Table.

India now has 12 crucial points in the ICC World Test Championship cycle and occupies the third spot. India has won four matches out of the seven Tests played in the current cycle this includes 2 defeats and one draw. The win against West Indies in Delhi also marked India’s 122nd Test victory at home in 296 matches – an incredible testament of India’s dominance.
India will now host South Africa for a two-match Test series next month. The first match will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata from November 14 to 18 and the second Test will be played in Guwahati at the Barsapara Stadium from November 22 to 26.
