New Delhi: Gujarat Giants (GG) will square off against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first match of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2023 at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The first game of the WPL is an evening game, from 8 pm (IST). Before that, a grand opening ceremony will start at 5:30 pm.

Opening ceremony details

The opening ceremony will feature performances from musicians and movie stars, including Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani and AP Dhillon. Entry is going to be free for girls and women.

GG vs MI: Key players

Australia wicket-keeper batter Beth Mooney will be leading Gujarat Giants for the inaugural tournament. India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur will lead Mumbai Indians. MI have an abundance of experienced all-rounders in their squad, such as Nat Sciver-Brunt, Amelia Kerr, Chloe Tryon, Pooja Vastrakar, Hayley Matthews and Heather Graham. Captain Beth Mooney is one of many Australians in the Giants' squad.
