The young Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal faced a health scare and was reportedly taken to the hospital after he complained about intense stomach pain during Mumbai’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Rajasthan in Pune.
A post was shared by the senior journalist of Indian Express on X, which mentioned that Jaiswal experienced stomach cramps during the match and it started to become severe. He was taken to the Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad where the medical examinations were conducted and it was confirmed that it was a case of acute gastroenteritis.

Since last evening, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been dealing with stomach swelling and was admitted to the hospital for medical care.
After today’s SMAT match, he went straight to the hospital for further observation and treatment

The 23-year old batter was given proper medication and he also underwent CT scans and ultrasound. Now the doctors have advised him to continue with the treatment prescribed and take proper rest so that he can recover in time. Despite the discomfort he was facing in the match, Jaiswal contributed with 15 runs from 16 deliveries as Mumbai successfully chased the target of 217 runs. Throughout the match, Jaiswal was visibly struggling, with his condition deteriorating after play, leading to immediate medical intervention.
The BCCI has still not released an official statement and an update is still awaited. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), Jaiswal has accumulated 145 runs with an average of 48.33 and a strike rate of 168.6.
