Indian cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma was visibly frustrated after opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was late for their departure from Adelaide, causing a delay in the team’s travel plans to Brisbane for the third Test match. According to reports from Sports Tak, while the entire team was ready to head to Brisbane, Jaiswal failed to arrive at the hotel lobby on time, which led to the team bus leaving without him.
Jaiswal’s Late Arrival Leaves Rohit Frustrated
The Indian team was scheduled to take a 10 AM flight to Brisbane, and the team had planned to leave the hotel by 8:30 AM. While two buses were arranged for the players and support staff, Jaiswal was missing when it was time to depart. Despite waiting for some time, including input from coach Gautam Gambhir, the team decided to leave without the young batter.
Jaiswal eventually arrived at the lobby about 20 minutes late, only to find that the bus had already left for the airport. Consequently, the team management arranged for a separate car to transport Jaiswal to the airport, where he traveled alongside the senior security officer.
Team India Under Pressure After Poor Performance
The delay in Jaiswal’s arrival came on the heels of a disappointing performance by India’s batters in the Adelaide Test, where they were hoping for a strong comeback. After a crushing defeat at Perth, where Australia triumphed by 295 runs, the Indian team was under significant pressure. Despite contributions from players like Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Jaiswal, India failed to capitalize on key moments, allowing Australia to bounce back with dominant performances from Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Travis Head.
With the series at a critical juncture, the Indian team is determined to come back strong in Brisbane, hoping for a much-needed win and series lead.
