Jasprit Bumrah opened up about his favorite format and shared the reason for his preference. A pivotal bowler for India in all formats, Bumrah has battled through injury problems in the last few seasons to play regularly in every format of the game.
Jasprit Bumrah Expresses His Love For Test Format
But it’s really in Tests that he’s come into his own. Currently, he stands fourth in the list of highest wicket-takers in Test cricket, taking 33 wickets from as few as seven games at an average of 15.27. And in the current series against Bangladesh, he has taken six wickets so far.

Talking to broadcasters ahead of Day 4 of the Kanpur Test, Bumrah shared his long-standing desire to play in Test cricket and said he is happy to have the opportunity to bowl more. His usual sharpness in point of over ability as he expects bowling more overs during the tours of Australia, which would commence in November.
“For me, my favourite format is the Test format. I’ve said it before as well that I wanted to play this format and I’m doing that now. Good to get some overs under the belt and build up those overs. Number of overs we bowl in Australia will be a lot more,” said Bumrah.
On Day 2 and Day 3, the play wasn’t possible due to rain.
“Weather is something you’re not in control of. Have to quickly adjust, use your experience. You start communicating with the others as well about the pitch and the lines and lengths,” said Bumrah.
On Day 4 of second Test, Jasprit Bumrah striked and took an early wicket to dismiss Musfiqur Rahim at a mere score of 11.
