The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to discuss about the long-standing issue of Asia Cup trophy in the upcoming meeting of International Cricket Council (ICC) which will be held on November 4. The meeting will also discuss several other issues but the main focus will be on the Asia Cup trophy controversy.
It is expected that the ICC meeting which will be held today will probably come to a solution and all eyes will be on Mohsin Naqvi’s next step in the issue.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has confirmed that India will be formally raising the issue if the trophy is not handed back. However there is still no update or solution in sight for the issue and now it will be discussed in the meeting which is held by Jay Shah led ICC.
India played against Pakistan three times in the Asia Cup 2025 and defeated it in all the three matches. While team India was focused on winning Pakistan was busy in creating controversies. All the three matches had some controversy or other. In the first match, India refused to shake hands and this triggered PCB and they dragged in match referee Andy Pycroft. In the second match, Pakistan players made very controversial gestures related to Operation Sindoor and in the third match all the limits were crossed as Mohsin Naqvi ran away with India’s well-deserved trophy.
Mohsin Naqvi has informed BCCI that if India wants the trophy then they should collect it from him personally, he even offered to organise an event for the same. But it has been reported that BCCI has already refused to bow down according to his terms.
