Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) President Rohan Jaitley has got re-elected with a convincing mandate for another term as president. Jaitley won with 1,577 votes defeating TMC MP Kirti Azad, who got only 777 votes. It strengthens his commitment to forward Delhi cricket and nurturing an atmosphere of cricketing excellence for the region.
Focus On Developing Young Cricketers
Jaitley’s immediate agenda would be to identify and develop young talent, especially from underprivileged backgrounds who have the potential but lack the right resources. His administration is going to open high-performance centers that will provide professional, year-round training to promising players discovered by talent scouts. In that manner, Jaitley wants to provide equal opportunities to emerging cricketers in Delhi.
“It is very important that we focus on making sure that every cricketer with the potential to represent the state gets access to the best possible resources. Whether it’s coaching, rehabilitation, or equipment, we will ensure that no player is left behind due to lack of resources,” Jaitley said.
Giving Players All The Necessary Resources
“Players from humble backgrounds who possess great skill will be given the necessary tools to thrive,” he added.
“These centres will ensure that every talented player receives top-notch training, regardless of their background,” he said.
“We’re also enhancing our clubs to maximise training opportunities, helping young cricketers build on their potential from an early age.”
Growth Of Delhi Cricket Under Jaitley’s Leadership
Under Jaitley’s stewardship, Delhi cricket has seen significant growth. Arun Jaitley Stadium hosted five matches during the ODI World Cup successfully, thus showing its prominence in the international cricket arena. In addition, launching the Delhi Premier League-a T20 tournament-provided a platform for both male and female cricketers to play at a high level. Players like Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma were a part of the league, which only added to the credibility and popularity of the league.

“We recently organised the Delhi Premier League for both men and women. Initiatives like this are part of our effort to provide an inclusive and healthy ecosystem for cricketers in Delhi,” Jaitley remarked. “Our goal is to ensure that when players are called to represent the state, they are fully prepared.”
Full Sweep In DDCA Elections
Jaitley’s team swept the recent elections, winning all 12 positions, including five office bearers and seven directors. Shikha Kumar was elected vice president with 1,246 votes, while Ashok Sharma, Harish Singla, and Amit Grover were appointed to key roles within the administration. Anand Verma, Navdeep Malhotra, Manjit Singh, Shyam Sunder Sharma, Tushar Saigal, Vikas Katyal and Vikram Kohli have secured the position of Director.
Building On A Legacy Of Excellence
“We have fresh faces on board, with new perspectives and energy. The team is ready to drive the next phase of cricket development in the city,”
Jaitley said that infusing fresh ideas and youth into the DDCA’s leadership would be a big step toward the future of Delhi cricket.
The son of the former Union Minister and long-serving DDCA President, Arun Jaitley, Rohan Jaitley will be expected to carry forward the legacy of excellence in cricket administration. However, he promises to bring innovation along with tradition, clearly focusing on building infrastructure, grassroots cricket support, and fostering inclusiveness. His vision promises sustainable and inclusive cricketing in Delhi.
A Brighter Future For Delhi Cricket
“We are organising nearly 1,500 to 1,700 matches a year, so it takes significant effort from all involved to ensure these tournaments deliver on their goals,” Jaitley concluded.
As many as 1,500 matches are held here every year. The massive effort required to make the event a success was stressed upon by Jaitley, who aims to make cricketing infrastructure in the city stronger, nurture fresh talent, and position the capital at the forefront of Indian cricket. The future is certainly bright as Jaitley works to take Delhi cricket to newer heights.
