West Delhi Lions won the Delhi Premier League Title with a dashing six-wicket win against the Central Delhi Kings on August 31, Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Central Delhi Kings’ Post A Modest Total
Central Delhi Kings went to bat first once they lost the toss. They posted a competitive score of 173/7 in their 20 allotted overs. Yugal Saini was the anchor of the innings, posting a critical 65 runs. Pranshu Vijayran also proved critical, hitting a fireworks 50* off 24 balls that pushed CDK to a difficult score.
For West Delhi, Manan Bhardwaj and Shivank Vashisht stood out with the ball, both picking up two wickets each to keep the Kings’ score in check.
West Delhi Lions’ Chase: Rana’s Leadership Shines
West Delhi Lions’ chase got off to a shaky start as they lost three wickets in the powerplay, putting their title bid in jeopardy. However, the determined Nitish Rana rose to the occasion, playing a brilliant knock of 79 off 49 balls. His innings was the backbone of West Delhi’s successful chase, as they reached their target with two overs to spare, finishing at 174/4 in just 18 overs.
Hrithik Shokeen also scored an unbeaten 42 runs, giving excellent support to Rana as the duo led West Delhi to success.

The game started with West Delhi Lions winning the toss and deciding to field. This proved to be a correct decision, with their bowlers keeping CDK in check and chasing down the target easily.
For West Delhi, it was a big season back in 2025. Last year, they had finished in fifth place and missed making it to the playoffs. Not only did they reach the final this time around, but they also won the coveted title in thrilling fashion.
