Kiwis bowled out hosts for just 111 runs in 17.1 overs. Highest scorer was Glenn Maxwell with just 28 runs.
In the innings of Australia, Pat Cummings got 21 runs, while Mitchell March could only garner 16 runs and Aaron Finch got 13 runs. All the Kiwis bowlers got themselves at least one wicket each. However, Tim Southee and Michael Santner could scalp three wickets each.
Winning captain Kane Williamson shared his happiness on the win. He said, “It was one of those days, an outstanding day, the openers set the tone, lots of contributions right through the batting and that was a very good score on this pitch. The bowlers then did well and were well supported in the field. Everyone know their roles in this team, we knew about the quality of their bowling (Australia’s), took the game deep and we were very clinical in what we needed to do.”
