Devajit Saikia of the IPL Governing Council released a statement about the match’s cancellation. He reiterated that the security of players, officials, and spectators was still the number one priority in the face of the changing security scenario.

Stadium Evacuated Under Close Surveillance

With the threat level heightened, spectators within the stadium were evacuated peacefully in the presence of security officials. Footage of the stadium presented empty stands as well as an orderly but watchful evacuation operation, a mirror to the seriousness of the time.
