Virat Kohli Vs Australia: Record Breaking Test Knocks That Will Go Down In Cricket History

Virat Kohli has an excellent record against the Aussies and he will again be seen in action in the upcoming prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting from November 22.

Virat Kohli has proved himself in all formats and he is considered to be greatest threat for the Australian team. In India he is known to be the King of Test cricket, his performance against Australia is noteworthy; he has scored 2,042 runs in 25 Test matches. Among these, eight of his innings have been century and five fifties. His batting average during these matches is commendable: 47.48. Virat Kohli hails from Delhi and has handled the bowling attacks of Australia by producing outstanding performances under pressure as well as producing standout innings on their home turf.

This was nothing short of phenomenal considering this was the first Test for Virat Kohli as the Test captain of India. He scored a splendid 141 against an Aussie bowling attack that was looking strong. Despite India’s failure to reach the target of 364 runs in the fourth innings, Kohli won all hearts as he battled single-handedly and played carefree cricket.

147 At Sydney, 2015

Kohli played one of the most spectacular knocks of his career, which was his fourth century in the series, in the last match of the 2014-15 Border-Gavaskar Series against Australia. Batting first, Australia set a record 572 runs for India. Kohli’s match-changing innings helped India reply with 475 runs along with KL Rahul’s maiden Test century. The match was a draw, and Kohli’s form in the entire series was a testament to his greatness.

123 At Perth, 2018

Virat Kohli showed his dominance over the game, when he scored this brilliant 123 at Perth in a spine-chilling Test match where the top order was down in low scores, keeping India competitive on a difficult bouncy pitch.

186 At Ahmedabad, 2023

Virat Kohli was going through a century drought for more than three years. He silenced all his critics with a great innings of 186 in the fourth Test against Australia. India took the lead after Australia had made 480 runs. The match ended in a draw, but Kohli’s performance marked a triumphant return to form.
