Virat Kohli made his Ranji Trophy comeback after 13 years and fans flocked to stadium in huge numbers. With 15,000 fans at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday. Kohli is playing for Delhi in an Elite Group D match against Railways. The buzz around Kohli’s presence was so electric that the fans began to line up to watch him play at 3 am creating a two-kilometer long queue outside the stadium. There were alot of fans chanting “RCB RCB”.
The huge demand to watch Kohli play was so overwhelming that the stadium official had to open Gate No. 18 to manage the influx of so many spectators. Former RCB wicketkeeper-batter Shreevats Goswami took to his social media handle and highlighted the significance of the event especially in light of ongoing debate around “superstar culture” and it is not something that can be discarded acknowledging that Virat Kohli continues to attract massive crowds.
