The World Championship of Legends 2025 ended in thrilling style as the South Africa Champions romped to an impressive 9-wicket win over the Pakistan Champions in the final. The player in the spotlight was AB de Villiers himself, who turned the clock back with a power-hitting masterclass, scoring a stunning unbeaten 120 from only 60 balls as he led his team to their first-ever WCL championship title. Yet the action-packed finale was not the only thing making headlines. After the match, one moment that caught everyone’s eye was the conversation between WCL owner and presenter Karishma Kotak on live TV.
WCL Owner Leaves Presenter Karishma Kotak Speechless
A dramatic shot of unpredictability went off-camera during the post-match telecast. During a live segment, WCL owner Harshit Tomar left guests and host Karishma Kotak speechless when he answered a lighthearted question about what he would do after the tournament with a professed desire to marry her. The stunned presenter blinked back a shocked “Oh my god! ” before composing herself and continuing with her hosting responsibilities.

In the video, presenter Karishma asked, “how are you going to celebrate today?” In response, Harshit said: “Probably once this is over, I’m going to propose to you.”
Within minutes, the clip had gone viral, generating a buzz on social media. Even, WCL owner Harshit Tomar even shared a picture with presenter Karishma Kotak.
South Africa Clinch WCL Title
Batting first after winning the toss, the Pakistan Champions, led by Mohammad Hafeez, scored a competitive 195/5 in their 20 overs. Sharjeel Khan was responsible for the runs with his elegant 76, and South Africa’s bowling unit, led by Wayne Parnell (2/32) and Hardus Viljoen (2/38), was able to keep things in relative check in the latter half.
AB De Villiers led from the front, and South Africa overhauled the total with relative ease, hardly leaving Pakistan an opportunity to crawl back into the match.
Pakistan Suspended From Further WCL Editions
In a significant development after the final, news came in that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to suspend the Shahid Afridi-led Pakistan Champions from further WCL editions. This decision is said to have followed the India Champions’ decision not to play against Pakistan at the tournament, opening up a rift that now has future implications. As the WCL bids adieu with on-field excellence and off-field pleasant surprises, it’s amply apparent that the first edition will be remembered for a lot more than the cricket alone.
