Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has been fined 25% of his match fees and was given one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct in match against Chennai Super Kings at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata. KKR also lost the match and the home loss leaves KKR with 11 points from 12 games precariously positioned and now depends on positive outcomes elsewhere to continue playoff hopes.
Varun Chakaravarthy Fined
“Varun Chakaravarthy admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction.
“For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” the IPL said in a media release.

KKR Faces Shocking Defeat

CSK’s Comeback In The Match
Replying, CSK were in grave trouble at 60/5, but the explosive batting by Brevis—the highlight being a huge 30-run over against Vaibhav Arora rescued their innings.
