The IPL 2026 auction concluded on December 16, Tuesday but this time many uncapped Indians were picked at a very hefty amount. All the franchises are now locked in with their required players and a total of 77 slots were filled in the auction. Cameron Green, the Australian all-rounder was the most expensive buy of the IPL 2026 auction – he was picked for INR 25.20 crores by the Kolkata Knight Riders.
But it was not just the experienced players who were picked for huge amounts, there were top five Indian uncapped players who broke the bank.
Prashant Veer
Prashant Veer has broken the bank and has become a very expensive buy in the IPL 2026 Auction as he has been brought in by the Chennai Super Kings for INR 14.20 crores. He has been an integral part of the Noida Super Kings and he recently smashed 320 runs with a strike rate of 155.34 – this included three fifties. Veer’s U23 record has been exceptional this year he has scored 255 runs with a strike rate of 135.63 which includes three fifties and also 14 wickets in five matches with an average of 17.85. CSK has picked the perfect replacement for their former player Ravindra Jadeja.

Kartik Sharma
Kartik is a 19-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, who was able to gain more attention with Rajasthan’s advancement into the knockout stages from Elite group D. Kartik has been the topic of discussion for his great attacking middle-order batting in local white-ball cricket, especially in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy league stage, where he managed to score 133 runs in five games with a strike rate of over 160. Throughout his brief T20 career of just 12 matches, he has maintained a strike rate higher than 160 all the time. Kartik is now the shared highest-priced uncapped player in IPL history, together with Prashant Veer, since both players were acquired by Chennai Super Kings for the same amount.
Auqib Nabi
Auqib Nabi is another big gain at the auction, he comes from Jammu and Kashmir and the pacer earned a deal of INR 8.60 crores by Delhi Capitals (DC). He has been rewarded for consistent domestic performances and has established himself as one of the most standout bowlers from Jammu and Kashmir. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he picked 15 wickets in just seven matches with an economy below 8. Overall he has 43 wickets in 34 T20 matches he has played with an economy of 7.74.

Mangesh Yadav
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) picked Mangesh Yadav for INR 5.20 crores. The 23-year old youngster came into spotlight after his dashing performance in the Madhya Pradesh Premier League (MPL) 205 where he bagged 15 wickets in just 6 matches with an average of 12 – this also includes three 4-wicket hauls.
Tejasvi Dahiya
The wicket-keeper batter from Delhi was picked by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 3 crores after his excellent performance in the Delhi Premier League (DPL). He scored 339 runs at a strike rate of over 190 which included 29 sixes. One of his standout knock performance came when he smashed a half-century in just 12 balls for South Delhi Superstarz. In his T20 career so far, Dahiya has scored 113 runs in six matches with a strike rate of 168.65.
