Karnataka Wins Vijay Hazare Trophy
Vidarbha, who had won the toss and decided to field, was put to a tough test by Karnataka’s batting line-up. Although Karnataka began poorly, its middle order took over the reins with Ravichandran Smaran leading the charge with a century, while K Shrijith (78 off 74) and Abhinav Manohar (79 off 42) proved to be valuable additions, allowing Karnataka to score a stiff 348/6 in their 50 overs. With the pressure mounting, Shorey rose to the occasion, delivering a masterclass in composure and technique to guide his team to a memorable victory. His back-to-back centuries in high-stakes matches highlight his ability to shine in critical moments.

Ignored By Selectors Despite Being The Top Run-Scorers
The Vijay Hazare Trophy has consistently showcased some of India’s most prolific domestic talent, yet many of the tournament’s top run-scorers have been shockingly overlooked by national selectors. Despite amassing huge runs season after season, players who have dominated the league with their exceptional performances continue to find themselves on the sidelines when it comes to national call-ups. While these players shine on the domestic stage, they remain ignored by selectors as their consistent brilliance still hasn’t earned them a spot in the Indian squad or given a chance for comeback.
