Tim David Opens Up About His ODI Comeback, Says ‘I’m Not…’

Tim David has been recovering from hamstring injury in Perth which he sustained during IPL 2025. He is also preparing fro Australia's T20 tour which will start from July 20 in Jamaica.

Australian all-rounder Tim David has made it clear that there is little to no possibility of a comeback to the ODI format, even as selectors are retooling the team in the wake of the surprise 50-over retirements of Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis. Though his name has cropped up as a possible inclusion for Australia’s build-up for the 2027 ODI World Cup, David is set on T20 cricket.

“I’m not too sure, to be honest. It’s not the immediate plan. We’ve got such a busy year, to be honest, leading up to this T20 World Cup. The winter actually looks quite different for me this year. Previously, I would have been away for four or five months in a row over the winter playing competitions. And now we’ve got so many T20 series that there’s not much time to think about much else. So we’ll see how that develops. But, at the moment, no plans.”
