India won the Asia Cup 2025 after defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets. Opting to bowl first, India restricted Pakistan at a score of 146 runs with top bowler being Kuldeep Yadav who spun his way to pick 4 wickets. Other than him, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel picked 2 wickets each.
While batting India was off to a rocky start as the Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill lost early wickets. But Tilak Varma was the star batter, he took the match till the very end and sealed the win for India by forming steady partnership with Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube. Finally at the end, Rinku Singh hit the winning runs and ensured that India won smoothly.
After the match concluded, both the sides did not shake hands again and the Indian fans even started to boo and chant “Bharat Mata ki Jai” in the stadium. Even though Naqvi waited to present the trophy, no member from the Indian side went on the stage.
It was seen that the Indian team celebrated without the trophy and the video has gone viral on social media.
This is the first time a final between India and Pakistan happened in Asia Cup and India defeated the Men in Green 3 times in the same tournament and showed who the real winner is despite Pakistan’s dramatics.
