Australia win against Afghanistan

Adelaide: The hopes for semi-final in the ongoing T20 World Cup are alive for Australia as they defeat Afghanistan by 4 runs in their last Super 12 fixture. Though, Rashid Khad has successfully hurt their chances by hitting hard and losing by just 4 runs.

Afghanistan fight hard against Australia

Australia had put 168 runs on board after put to bat first. Afghanistan bowlers had put a strong fight as they dismissed most of Aussies players cheaply. Mitchell Marsh (45), Glenn Maxwell (54) were the only high scoring batsmen. David Warner and Marcus Stoinis each scored 25 runs and other than these, no player could go even in double digits.

When Afghanistan came to bat, they put a strong fight and garnered 164 runs but feel short of 4 runs. However, Rashid Khan tried hard as he hit with a strike rate of 208 but it wasn’t just enough to win.

Rashid Khan hurts chances of Australia in semi-finals

Khan has jeopardise the obvious chances of Australia to sail into semis by hitting in the end. He garnered 48 runs off 23 balls and his side lost by just 4 runs. This has caused Australia’s NRR go in negative and there are chances that the semi-finalists are decided on its basis if England win.
