New Delhi: On Wednesday, India won against Bangladesh by 5 runs in game full of ups and downs and thrill. When India had come to bat on field, they put 184 runs on board after the major contributions from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli.
However, while defending their total, India couldn’t do much till heaven helped them. By the end of 7 overs, India bowlers couldn’t get even a single wicket and then rain stopped the game.
After a delay of almost 30 minutes, teams came back to resume game, though it has reduced to 16 overs. On the very second ball, Litton Das, the top performer for Bangladesh in that game was dismissed. KL Rahul had run out him for 60 runs.
India turned the momentum towards themselves by taking frequent wickets afterwards and thus won it by 5 runs.
Bangladesh player Nurul Hasan accuses Virat Kohli of fake fielding
However, Bangladesh player has created a controversy by accessing Virat Kohli of ‘fake’ fielding in the game. After the match, he said in Bengali, “Definitely, the wet outfield did have an impact when we restarted the game. But there was also a fake throw which could have got us five runs but we didn’t even get that.”
When did Virat Kohli field fake?
It was in 7th over when Virat Kohli pretended that he was catching Arshdeep Singh’s throw from deep and throwing it at the non-striker’s end, when he could not catch the ball.
Nobody saw it – Harsha Bhogle
Cricker expert and commentator, Harsha Bhogle shared his stand on the matter of #fakefielding and said, “On the fake fielding incident, the truth is that nobody saw it. The umpires didn’t, the batters didn’t and we didn’t either. Law 41.5 does make provision for penalising fake fielding (the umpire still has to interpret it thus) but no one saw it. So what do you do!”

I don’t think anyone can complain about the ground being wet. Shakib was right when he said it should favour the batting side. The umpires and curators have to keep the game going till it is not possible to do so. And they handled it very well so that minimum time was lost”, he added.
